What's next ??????

I'm sitting here tonight trying to figure out when our family will get to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For the past month Pam and I have been posting each day something we are thankful or grateful for. We started doing this to help us look for something positive each day. Some days are easy, and other are almost impossible. A funny video clip or pictures posted are an attempt at creating smiles or some laughter. Finding a way to laugh everyday might sound easy for most.

Tomorrow I have to go to court to fight a noise ordnance violation. Most might think I might have had a radio playing to loud or something like that, right? While you would be wrong. I got a ticket for my dogs barking. An old man that has nothing better to do, but call the police on everyone in the neighborhood. It all started when we moved back into our house. The calls first came in saying the yard was not up to city code (Fire hazard for the weeds that had grown). The funny thing about it was that we had a clean up party 3 days after we moved in. The police still got 15 call (From the same guy) saying that there was still a hazard. I then had my old 82 chev parked on the side of my house (on the property). I then got calls for an abandon vehicle on my property. While I gave the truck away. Then the complaints went on to the rabbits. The calls were that rabbits aren't city pets. While animal control had to tell this guy that there is not violation for having rabbits. Then this guy turned his attention to my dogs. The first complaint was that my dogs were aggressive. When animal control came out again I asked how they were aggressive? He said that they bark at people walking by my yard. I then asked isn't that what dog should do? Let you know if someone or something is in or near your yard? Animal control then said your right. Just to make sure I didn't offend anyone I started bringing the dogs in every night about 9pm. I then go calls saying that they were excessively barking during the day. While the interesting part of the story is Pam is home all day with Rhett. When Animal control came over and finally gave us a ticket, he said that he had gotten a call that morning and the dogs were barking. He then said he had spent about an hour listening for the dogs, and did not hear them but needed to write the ticket because of all the complaints. The reason animal control didn't hear the dogs is because Pam had them in the house from the night before and had only let them out for 5 mins to potty. Animal control seen the dogs in the house and still wrote the ticket.

I'm just can't believe the warm welcome we got and continue to receive. Sorry I got long winded there.

Today I am grateful for good neighbors. Most people don't have a really bad one like us.

I'll post the calender winners tomorrow. Check out this clip.

Andy: We had a neighbor like that too, but they complained about our KIDS! We lived in one of those communities that have a homeowner's association. We quickly moved out of there and got a house on a piece of land where people would leave us alone. Now, aren't kids supposed to have fun and be noisy outside? Sheesh! I feel for ya. I pray that the judge sees your care in what you are doing and then throws that ticket out the door. You could get your neighbor on harrassment charges. We called our neighbor "nosey rosey' everytime he complained. Take care.

Darn it! I hate to read this. To heck with the neighbors anyway. We've got our fair share too. I'm the quiet one who refuses to talk to anyone. Easier that way! Hope today went went. xo from Elliot and his momma! Oh, and let me know how I can buy a calendar or two...

Reminds me of the crotchety old guy who lived right next to the playground of my elementary school and would keep the kickball every time it got accidentally kicked over the fence into his yard. Some people really have nothing better to do. I'm so sorry you guys have had such a rough time of things, but I'm so glad you're back in your house! It sounds like someone needs to go and teach him the true meaning of Christmas--are either of you up to baking him a pie or something? Of course, he'd probably call the cops and say you were trying to poison him or something...
